Прем'єр-міністр Великої Британії Тереза Мей оголосила про плани провести дострокові загальні вибори у країні.
 

Відповідну заяву Мей зробила сьогодні у Лондоні, повідомляє Еспресо.ТВ з посиланням на  ВВС.

Вибори відбудуться 8 червня.

Великобританія, сказала Мей, оголошуючи про вибори, потребує визначеності, стабільності і сильного керівництва після референдуму про вихід з ЄС.

Напередодні телезвернення Мей, біржовий курс британської валюти став різко знижуватися. Однак після виступу прем'єр-міністра фунт стерлінгів знову почав рости.

На Даунінг-стріт раніше заперечували, що Мей оголосить про проведення виборів до наступних чергових виборів, які мали відбутися у 2020 році.
