Партія Християнсько-демократичний союз (ХДС) впевнено перемагає на виборах до земельного парламенту (Ландтагу) у федеральній землі Саар, які відбулися в неділю, 26 березня.

За даними попереднього підрахунку, оприлюдненими телеканалами ARD та ZDF, партія канцлера Ангели Меркель та чинного прем'єр-міністраСаару Аннегрет Крамп-Карренбауер  набирає від 40,2 до 40,8 % голосів. Це забезпечить їй 24 мандати в Ландтазі.

Соціал-демократична партія Німеччини (СДПН), яка переживає зростання популярності через так званий "ефект Шульца" (висунення кандидатом у канцлери від СДПН Мартіна Шульца. - Ред.) відстає від ХДС на десять відсотків і набирає від 29,5 до 30 %. Така кількість голосів забезпечить соціал-демократам 17 місць у земельному парламенті.

На третьому місці Ліві, які не в останню чергу завдяки популярності в землі першого номера списку Оскара Лафонтена набирають від 12,9 до 13 % голосів. Пройти до земельного парламенту Саару зуміли також і праві популісти.  Партія "Альтернатива для Німеччини" набирає, згідно з попередніми даними, від 5,9 до 6 %. Натомість не долають 5-відсотковий бар'єр Зелені, вільні демократи та Партія піратів.

Виборчі дільниці працювали до 18:00 за місцевим часом. У Саарі право голосу мають 800 тисяч виборців. Очікується, що ХДС та соціал-демократи сформують широку коаліцію.
