Семь пользователей Twitter подали в суд совместный иск против президента США Дональда Трампа, обвинив его в нарушении первой поправки Конституции США, которая гарантирует, в частности, свободу слова.

Заниматься делом будет институт Knight First Amendment, который специализируется в защите свободы слова, передает Новое время со ссилкой на  Reuters.

Причиной подачи заявления в суд стало то, что президент США заблокировал в Twitter нескольких пользователей, которые критиковали его в комментариях на его собственной странице.

"Первая поправка применима к интернет-форуму таким же образом, каким она применяется к городским собраниям и открытым заседаниям школьных советов", - говорится в заявлении главы Knight First Amendment.

Напомним, ранее президент США Дональд Трамп выразил сомнения в возможности создания совместной с Россией группы по вопросам кибербезопасности.

Первая поправка к Конституции США является частью Билля о правах. Она гарантирует, что Конгресс США не будет:

  • Поддерживать какую-либо религию, либо утверждать государственную религию.
  • Запрещать свободное вероисповедание.
  • Посягать на свободу слова.
  • Посягать на свободу прессы.
  • Ограничивать свободу собраний.
  • Ограничивать право народа обращаться к Правительству с петициями об удовлетворении жалоб.
