У другому турі парламентських виборів у Литві переміг Литовський союз селян і зелених. За остаточними даними литовського Центрвиборчкому, центристські "аграрії" забезпечили собі 54 депутатські мандати.

Соціал-демократи, які наразі перебувають при владі, посіли лише третє місце з 17 мандатами і змушені будуть піти в опозицію, пише ВВС

Консервативний Союз Вітчизни - Християнські демократи Литви, який лідирував після першого туру, з великим відривом прийшов до фінішу другим. Перед другим туром голосування консерватори розраховували на більш ніж 60 мандатів, а отримали лише 31 місце в сеймі.

Чинна партія при владі, Соціал-демократична партія, забезпечила собі лише 17 мандатів в новому парламенті. Ще до голосування прем'єр-міністр Альгірдас Буткявічюс визнав, що після виборів його партії доведеться піти в опозицію.

Ще 14 мандатів отримав Ліберальний рух Литви. Окрім цього в сейм пройшли ще шість партій.
