Українська льотчиця і народний депутат Надія Савченко, незаконно утримувана Росією, була номінована на здобуття премії Сахарова.

Про це йдеться в повідомленні прес-служби Європарламенту, передає Європейська правда.

Серед номінантів, крім Надії Савченко, опинилися Едвард Сноуден, загиблий Борис Нємцов та інші. Загалом у списку вісім номінантів.

"Премія присуджується щороку, щоб вшанувати видатних людей, які борються з нетерпимістю, фанатизмом і пригнобленням", - йдеться у повідомленні.

Офіційно список номінантів буде представлений 28 вересня під час спільної зустрічі комітетів з закордонних справ і розвитку і підкомітету з прав людини.

Переможця буде оголошено в жовтні.

Премія Сахарова за свободу думки вручається Європейським парламентом щороку з 1988 року.
