Найбагатша людина Румунії мільярдер Іоан Нікулае сьогодні засуджений до двох років і шести місяців в'язниці за незаконне фінансування кандидата в президенти Мірчі Джоане в 2009 році.

Таке рішення прийняв Апеляційний суд Бухареста, повідомляє Європейська правда

Нікулае також був оштрафований на 640 тисяч леїв (близько 145 тисяч євро).

Крім того, на три роки засуджений і колишній функціонер Соціал-демократичної партії (PSD) Румунії Буня Станку.

За даними слідства, Станку отримав від Нікулае мільйон євро для виборчої кампанії лідера PSD Мірчі Джоане, який у підсумку програв вибори Траяну Бесеску.

В обмін на фінансову підтримку Джоане у разі своєї перемоги повинен був призначити у міністерство економіки людей, близьких до Нікулае, для лобіювання проектів бізнесмена.

Нікулае володіє агропромисловою групою InterAgro, його статки оцінюються в $1,25 мільярда. Минулого року холдинг закрив мережу заводів у Румунії з виробництва добрив через зростання цін на газ.
