Ранее глава Центральной избирательной комиссии Казахстана сообщил, что действующий глава республики Назарбаев предварительно набирает 97,7% голосов избирателей на внеочередных выборах президента. Организация по безопасности и сотрудничеству в Европе считает, что выбор избирателей на этих выборах был ограничен из-за отсутствия реальной оппозиции и ограничения свободы слова.

"Я извиняюсь, что для супердемократических государств эти цифры неприемлемы, но я ничего не мог сделать. Если бы я вмешался, это было бы недемократично", — сказал Назарбаев на пресс-конференции.
