Об этом со ссылкой на бывших лидеров повстанцев, а также украинских и западных чиновников, пишет Fox News, передает "ДС".

Собеседники Fox говорят, что главный помощник президента России Владимира Путина Сурков был связан с повстанцами, которые захватили территории на востоке Украины, с начала 2014 года, вскоре после того, как российские войска оккупировали Крым.

Он находится под американскими и европейскими санкциями за свою роль в аннексии Крыма.

"Путин - отец" сепаратистского движения, сказал Валентин Наливайченко, возглавлявший СБУ в течение первых 15 месяцев после Революции. "Сурков - няня", - добавил он.

Сурков не ответил на вопросы журналистов, отправленные через пресс-службу Кремля.

Россия заявляет, что у нее есть влияние на сепаратистов, но отрицает контроль над ними и представляет конфликт в Украине как гражданскую войну. Она неоднократно утверждала, что поддерживает мирные соглашения, подписанные в Минске, направленное на реинтеграцию сепаратистского региона в Украину, но придание ему большей местной автономии.

Издание отмечает, что 2013 году Сурков курировал спорные территории Грузии, которые Россия вывела из-под контроля Грузии после войны в 2008 году.
