"Останні 25 років ти була не лише дружиною та матір'ю моїх дітей, але була моїм найкращим другом. Ти взяла на себе роль, яку не просила. І ти зіграла її так, що не можна було краще її зіграти. У цьому було відчуття стилю і елегантність. Завдяки тобі Білий Дім став місцем, який належить всім", - сказав американський лідер, не стримуючи емоцій.

Обама також дав настанови своїм дітям – Малії і Саші, подякувавши їм за доброту, уважність, ентузіазм, наполегливість і витримку.

"Я пишаюся тим, що я є вашим батьком", - сказав він.
