Организация по безопасности и сотрудничеству в Европе (ОБСЕ) посчитала избирательную систему США крайне дезинтегрированной и по многим пунктам не соответствующей международным стандартам. Об этом заявил директор Бюро по демократическим институтам и правам человека ОБСЕ Михаэль Линк (Michael Link) в интервью изданиям немецкой медиагруппы Funke, опубликованном в четверг, 19 января.

В частности, в каждом штате действует различное избирательное законодательство и разная практика использования новых технологий, а во многих штатах бывшие заключенные и еще отбывающие наказание вовсе лишены избирательного права.

В отчете, подготовленном командой наблюдателей ОБСЕ по итогам выборов, говорится также о необходимости сделать финансовую систему избирательной кампании более прозрачной.

Кроме того, при всех попытках обеспечить безопасность электронной системы выборов использовалось много устаревших компьютеров, не соответствующих международным стандартам.

Линк также подверг критике избранного президента США Дональда Трампа за то, что он "сознательно и неоднократно преступал границы риторики ненависти". "То, что он при этом смог добиться успеха, создает опасный прецедент, - подчеркнул глава Бюро по демократическим институтам и правам человека. - Международное сообщество ожидает, что Соединенные Штаты будут подавать хороший пример и в этой области".
