Палата громад парламенту Великої Британії схвалила урядовий законопроект про проведення позачергових виборів 8 червня

Пропозицію про проведення виборів 18 квітня подала британський прем'єр Тереза ​​Мей.

Законопроект підтримали 522 депутати, проти проголосували лише 13 депутатів. За словами Мей, необхідність проведення дострокових парламентських виборів обумовлена ​​тим, що парламент залишається розділеним у питанні виходу країни з Європейського союзу.

Мей, яка в 2016 році заявляла, що ніяких дострокових виборів не буде, вчора пояснила, що змінити точку зору її змусили "політичні ігри та розбіжність у парламенті".

Британські ЗМІ відзначають, що через дострокові вибори прем'єр хоче отримати тверду підтримку власної Консервативної партії. За даними соціологічних опитувань, консерватори зараз мають величезну перевагу над лейбористами та особистий рейтинг Мей також досить високий.
