Парламент Греции в понедельник не поддержал правительственного кандидата в президенты в ходе третьего и последнего раунда голосования, сообщает агентство Bloomberg.

Формально голосование еще не завершилось, однако кандидатуру бывшего еврокомиссара Ставроса Димаса, предложенную премьером Антонисом Самарасом, уже отвергли более 120 из 300 законодателей. Для победы в третьем голосовании Димас должен был набрать более 3/5 (180+) голосов.

Согласно греческому законодательству, теперь в стране должны быть назначены внеочередные всеобщие выборы в парламент.

Греческий премьер Антонис Самарас предложил оппозиции ряд уступок, чтобы добиться избрания парламентом нового президента и избежать тем самым досрочных всеобщих выборов. Он хочет расширить правящую коалицию, а также провести досрочные парламентские выборы уже в конце 2015 года.

Если выборы будут назначены на февраль, то Греция не успеет завершить переговоры с кредиторами о завершении программы кредитования страны, и велики шансы на приход к власти левой партии Сиризы.
