Национальная ассамблея (парламент) Венесуэлы, контролируемая оппозицией, проголосовала большинством голосов за начало процесса импичмента президента Николаса Мадуро.

Парламентарии вызывают президента на заседание 1 ноября. Трансляция из парламента идет на канале Capitolio TV в прямом эфире.

В свою очередь президент Венесуэлы обвинил оппозицию в попытке осуществить "парламентский переворот" и пообещал не допустить его.

"В Венесуэле не было еще парламентского переворота, и мы не допустим ничего подобного, пусть это знают правые здесь и там", — заявил Мадуро на митинге своих сторонников в Каракасе.

В минувшее воскресенье депутаты одобрили так называемое "Соглашение о восстановлении конституционного порядка в Венесуэле", в котором действия исполнительной власти названы "государственным переворотом со стороны режима Николаса Мадуро против Конституции и народа Венесуэлы".

Ранее суды семи штатов Венесуэлы неожиданно аннулировали итоги первого этапа сбора подписей за проведение референдума о прекращении полномочий Мадуро, фактически сделав проведение второго этапа невозможным.

Для оппозиции важно провести референдум в 2016 году, иначе пост главы государства, даже при уходе Мадуро, на оставшиеся два года займет нынешний вице-президент страны. Если плебисцит пройдет раньше, то, по Конституции, должны состояться новые выборы.
