Британская издательская и образовательная компания Pearson продала свою долю в журнале с 172-летней историей The Economist.

Приобретение стоило новому владельцу издания - инвестиционной компании Exor SpA - $731 млн. Сделка стала завершающим этапом в переориентации компании полностью на образовательный сегмент после продажи деловой газеты Financial Times, передает Новое время

“Pearson теперь на 100% сконцентрирована на глобальной образовательной стратегии. Мир образования стремительно меняется, и мы видим большие возможности для роста нашего бизнеса”, - заявил исполнительный директор Джон Фэллон.

Exor владеет также долей в итальянской газете La Stampa.

Как сообщалось, новым владельцем Financial Times стала японская медиакомпания Nikkei. Сумма сделки составила $1,3 млрд. Новый владелец пообещал сохранить неприкосновенной издательскую политику.
