Кандидат у президенти Франції, консерватор Франсуа Фійон вибачився перед виборцями за те, що працевлаштував свою дружину. 

При цьому він заявив, що не збирається залишати передвиборчі перегони. Про це повідомляє ТСН з посиланням на  Reuters.

Фійон публічно захистив свої "помилки минулого" на прес-конференції в понеділок, 6 лютого, що стосувалися працевлаштування його дружини. Так, у прес-звіті йшлося про те, що дружина не працювала на держпосаді, на яку її працевлаштував Фійон, проте отримувала за це кошти.

Сам Фійон назвав рішення працевлаштувати дружину хибним, однак, заявив, що вона чесно протягом 15 років працювала парламентським асистентом.

Крім того, Фійон заявив: "Цього вечора розпочинається нова кампанія".

"Я єдиний кандидат, який зможе принести національне відродження", — додав він.
