Британська телерадіокомпанія ВВС проводить безпрецедентний експеримент. Розробники вигадали пристрій, який допомагає перемикатися між каналами за допомогою мозкової активності.

Нині в експерименті беруть участь 10 добровольців, які перемикають канали на телевізорі за допомогою сили думки, що спрямовується на екран спеціальним пристроєм. І зовнішній вигляд пристрою, і його призначення скоріше нагадують фантастичний фільм, ніж те, що відбувається в реальному часі. Пристрій зчитує електроенцефалограму мозкових хвиль за допомогою спеціальних сенсорів, розташованих на лобі і біля вух, і передає її на спеціальний додаток.

Учасникам експерименту було запропоновано вибрати один з 5 найбільш популярних каналів, використовуючи при цьому виключно мозкові хвилі. Один з учасників заявив, що управління телевізором за допомогою сили думки триваліше, ніж за допомогою пульту. Інший учасник звернув увагу на те, що пристрій вимагає наявності деяких спеціальних навичок концентрації, через що втрачаються кілька секунд для вибору відповідного вікна в додатку.
