Цей фільм викликав чималий ажіотаж на Канському фестивалі. Не меншу зацікавленість стрічка спричинила і під час кінофестивалю в Одесі. Це – двогодинний фільм "Майдан", який у неділю, 23 листопада, зможуть побачити всі без винятку телеглядачі України. В ефірі Першого Національного.

Сергій Лозниця почав знімати цей фільм у грудні 2013 – одразу після розгону студентського мітингу бійцями спецпідрозділу "Беркут". Він використав довгі плани і статичний кадр, що дає можливість глядачеві роздивитись усі деталі. Такий спосіб подачі режисер, як він пояснює сам, застосував, щоб не видавалось, що сцени змонтували. Тож після декількох хвилин перегляду глядачеві здаватиметься, що він блукає Майданом, зупиняється у певній точці й спостерігає…

Реакція на стрічку у світі була неймовірною. Після показу на Міжнародному кінофестивалі у Каннах журналісти-кінокритики склали рейтинг фільмів, у якому "Майдан" посів друге місце з близько півтори сотні стрічок. 

Перший Національний закликає усіх подивитись "Майдан". Щоб оцінити і згадати. Щоб відчути і пережити ті події знову. Зрештою, щоб просто ще раз побачити, як багатотисячний натовп у єдиному пориві виконує національний гімн.
