Половина німців виступають за призначення нових виборів після провалу коаліційних переговорів.

За інформацією Bild, ідею нових виборів підтримали 49,9% німців.

Опитування також показало, що 28% громадян ФРН вважають винним у провалі коаліційних переговорів лідера "Вільних демократів" Крістіана Лінднера, а 27% - канцлера Ангелу Меркель.

40% німців виступають за те, щоб Меркель залишилася на посаді канцлера після перевиборів, 24% - готові віддати перевагу іншому представнику ХДС.

Як відомо, раніше Християнсько-демократичний союз/Християнсько-соціальний союз, Вільна демократична партія та партія "Союз-90/Зелені" не змогли домовитися про створення коаліції через раптовий вихід із переговорів "Вільних демократів".

Попередні консультації щодо створення так званої коаліції "Ямайка" тривають з 18 жовтня.

Найбільші розбіжності учасників консультацій викликані темами, що стосуються біженців і боротьби проти змін клімату. Одне з найбільш спірних питань - возз'єднання сімей біженців. Принципові розбіжності також викликає питання відмови від вугільної енергетики.
