У віці 78 років пішов із життя колишній депутат Верховної Ради 7-го скликання від ВО "Свобода" Олександр Шевченко.

Про це повідомив лідер партії Олег Тягнибок на своїй сторінці у Фейсбуці.

"Надійшла сумна звістка. Пішов з життя видатний український учений-правознавець, самовідданий патріот і світла, відкрита людина - наш побратим Олександр Оксентійович Шевченко", - написав Тягнибок.

Шевченко був доктором юридичних наук, професором Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка. Він також працював у комітеті Ради із закордонних справ, був членом постійної делегації України в Парламентській асамблеї Ради Європи (ПАРЄ).

"Ще 2008 року він разом з групою однодумців розробив і представив революційний проект "свободівської" Національної Конституції України, в якому спирався на те, що традиції української нації сягають своїм корінням культури трипільців і скіфів, континуїтет сучасної української держави заснований у Київській Русі, а незалежна Україна виникла як наслідок більш ніж 300-річної національно-визвольної боротьби українського народу", - додав Тягнибок.
