Президент Украины Петр Порошенко исключил проведение досрочных выборов в стране.

"Избирательный сезон начнется в 2019 году, как это и предусмотрено законодательством", - сказал он на церемонии по случаю 25-летия Ассоциации городов Украины в Киеве, пишет Интерфакс-Украина.

По словам главы украинского государства, нужно остановить популизм и дать возможность стране поработать без выборов и провести настоящие реформы.

"Вместо того, чтобы готовиться к одномоментным подачкам и взяткам, лучше иметь мощную мотивацию, вкладывать в развитие своих громад", - добавил он.

Последние президентские выборы в Украине прошли в мае 2014 года. В этом же году были объявлены досрочные парламентские выборы в Верховную Раду, которые прошли осенью 2014 года.
