У середу, 28 червня, президент України Петро Порошенко назвав "анахронізмом" депутатську недоторканність і висловив сподівання, що Верховна Рада в недалекому майбутньому скасує її.

Про це Порошенко заявив під час урочистостей з нагоди Дня Конституції України в Києві, передає Радіо Свобода.

Президент також висловив переконання, депутати мають "раз і назавжди урівняти себе в правах з громадянами України, так само, як ми зняли недоторканість з суддів".

"Сподіваюся, що народні обранці в недалекому майбутньому ухвалять відповідне рішення. Адже серед них немає, напевно, жодного, хто б не обіцяв скасування цієї недоторканності у свої виборчій програмі", – наголосив він.

Президентський законопроект про внесення змін до Конституції України щодо недоторканності народних депутатів та суддів було зареєстровано у Верховній Раді 16 січня 2015 року.

Законопроектом передбачається виключити з Конституції частини 1 і 3 статті 80. Йдеться про положення, яким визначено, що народним депутатам гарантується депутатська недоторканність, а також положення, згідно з яким народні депутати не можуть без згоди Верховної Ради бути притягнуті до кримінальної відповідальності, затримані чи заарештовані.

Нагадаємо, у вівторок, 28 червня, відзначається День Конституції України. День прийняття Конституції є державним святом України.

Порошенко та Гройсман вже привітали українців із державним святом.

З нагоди Дня Конституції в українських містах заплановані урочистості та культурні заходи.
