У разі виконання необхідних умов, передбачених Мінськими домовленостями, місцеві вибори на окупованих територіях Донбасу можуть відбутися до кінця нинішнього року.

Про це заявив журналістам президент Петро Порошенко після урочистостей з нагоди запуску нової патрульної поліції у Краматорську, повідомляє "Укрінформ".

"Я не виключаю цього!", – сказав він, відповідаючи на запитання журналіста щодо того, чи можливе проведення місцевих виборів на окупованих територіях цього року.

Порошенко наголосив, що проведення виборів можливе лише після того, "коли буде безпека, коли буде припинення вогню, коли віддадуть заручників, коли ми заведемо озброєну місію і ця місія стане не лише на лінії зіткнення, а й на кордоні"

"Я впевнений в тому, що лише політичним процесом, виборами можна повернути окуповані території під український суверенітет", – зазначив президент.

"Я довіряю Донбасу. Там теж є українці, які зараз перебувають у жахливих гуманітарних, соціальних та економічних умовах", – додав Порошенко.
