Снимок украинского фотожурналиста Алексея Фурмана Shelling survivor ("Та, что пережила обстрел") выиграл конкурс Picture of the Year International (POYi) в номинации "Портрет".

В кадре - 30-летняя женщина Лариса, которая пострадала во время обстрела Николаевки близ Славянска (Донецкая область). Фотография была сделана 4 июля прошлого года во время освобождения города от пророссийских боевиков в больнице скорой помощи, после того как дом женщины был полностью разбомблен, говорится на сайте конкурса.

Фотограф рассказал, что во время обстрела люди прятались в подвальной больничной столовой, использовали ее как бомбоубежище.
"Врачи оперировали там же. Когда мы приехали, в больнице все еще не было света. В коридоре сидела молодая женщина, которая еще не отошла от случившегося. В ее дом попал снаряд, и проснулась она уже в больнице. Она потеряла все, что у нее было. Там было совершенно темно, и я использовал маленькую китайскую LED-лампочку, чтобы сделать этот портрет. Поэтому дело тень. Когда я получил награду, понял, что хочу найти эту женщину и как-то помочь ей", - отметил Фурман.

Также в этом году в конкурсе Picture of the Year International награду получил еще один украинский фотограф. Евгений Малолетка занял первое место в категории "Новости" за снимок "Пассажир" с места катастрофы малайзийского Boeing, сбитого 17 июля вблизи города Тореза (Донецкая область).
