Про це повідомляє Fox News з посиланням на власні джерела. За даними телеканалу, про призначення Гізер Науерт оголосить президент США Дональд Трамп у Twitter. Вона замінить на цій посаді Ніккі Хейлі (Nikki Haley), яка виконує ці обов’язки з 24 січня 2017 року.

Ще в жовтні пані Науерт, колишня ведуча каналу Fox News, вважалася основною претенденткою на посаду. Тоді Ніккі Хейлі неочікувано оголосила про свою відставку та пообіцяла пропрацювати до кінця 2018 року. Вона не пояснила причину відставки, але прокоментувала, що урядові чиновники повинні знати «коли прийшов час піти».

Гізер Науерт у квітні 2017 року стала речницею Державного департаменту — це була її перша посада в державних структурах. Вона також виконує обов'язки заступниці держсекретаря з питань публічної дипломатії та державних справ.

Про призначення Наурт написало й видання Bloomberg, також з посиланням на власні джерела. Державний департамент поки не коментує цю інформацію. Але призначення Гізер Науерт ще має схвалити сенат. Як зауважує BBC, канал Fox News підтримує президента США Доналда Трампа, а сам він часто цитує новини каналу.

Минулого тижня Fox News запустив свій стрімінговий сервіс під назвою Fox Nation. Повідомляється, що сервіс пропонуватиме ексклюзивний контент для підписників, й коштуватиме $5.99 на місяць або $60 на рік.
