Президент России Владимир Путин объявил об участии в выборах президента. Об этом он сказал на митинге-концерте, посвященном 85-летию Горьковского автомобильного завода, передает корреспондент Дождя.

«Я буду выдвигать свою кандидатуру на должность президента Российской Федерации», — сказал Путин. 

Он отметил, что «лучшего места и лучшего повода для объявления об этом, наверное, нет».

Ранее, 6 декабря, Путин на Всероссийском форуме добровольцев пообещал в ближайшее время принять решение об участиях в выборах президента. Он обратился к залу с вопросом, готовы ли его поддержать в случае принятия положительного решения. На это ему ответили аплодисментами. Путин пообещал учесть реакцию при принятии решения.

Ранее появились слухи о том, что Путин может объявить о планах идти на новых срок во время своего выступления на форуме добровольцев или после встречи с рабочими на Горьковском автомобильном заводе в Нижнем Новгороде.

Путин принимал участие в президентских выборах в 2000 году, в 2004 году и 2012 году. В 2008-2012 годах он занимал пост премьер-министра России.
