Редакція французького сатиричного тижневика Charlie Hebdo, на яку кілька тижнів тому вчинили напад терористи, вирішила призупинити випуск журналу. Наступний номер видання надійде у продаж за кілька тижнів, повідомляється на сайті редакції. Анне Оммель, яка від 7 січня відповідає за зв’язки з громадськістю, зазначила, що працівники редакції втомилися і почуваються виснаженими, інформує сайт німецької газети Die Zeit.

Останній й досі єдиний номер журналу, який вийшов друком після кривавої розправи, містив на титульній сторінці карикатуру на пророка Мухамеда, що закликав своїх прибічників та противників вийти по всьому світу на вулиці. Над випуском редакція працювала у приміщеннях газети Libération, і він вийшов рівно через тиждень після кривавого теракту. З огляду на високий попит, наклад склав сім мільйонів екземплярів. Доти тижневик видавався накладом у близько 60 тисяч примірників.

"Франція - наш головний ворог"

Як повідомлялося, зосереджена в Ємені терористична організація "Аль-Каїда на Аравійському півострові" взяла на себе відповідальність за теракт у редакції журналу. Нині терористи "Аль-Каїди" оголосили Францію своїм головним ворогом, яка у цьому відношенні навіть випередила США. Ідеологічний ментор групи терористів у Ємені Ібрагім Аль-Рубаїш закликав у поширеному в інтернеті відео до нових терактів проти західних країн, особливо проти Франції. За його словами, мусульмани мають "без обговорення з іншими особами" нападати на тих, хто кепкує з їхнього пророка.
