Російські хакери проводять кібератаки проти американських політичних організацій і потім шантажують їх, пише Новое время з посиланням на агентство Bloomberg.

За даними джерел, щонайменше дюжина груп зіткнулася з спробами вимагання після президентських виборів у США. Вимоги викупу супроводжуються зразками конфіденційних даних, наявних у розпорядженні хакерів.

На думку експертів у сфері безпеки, методи хакерів вказують на групу Cozy Bear, яку США вважають пов'язаною з російським урядом, а також відповідальною за злам серверів Національного комітету Демократичної партії США.

Серед організацій, що зазнали шантажу, згадуються компанія Арабелла Advisors і Центр прогресу США, який активно закликав до розслідування контактів між оточенням Трампа та представниками РФ.

"Арабелла Advisors постраждала від кіберзлочинності. Всі факти вказують на те, що це було мотивовано фінансовими питаннями", - сказав представник фірми Стів Семпсон.

За даними видання, вимоги шантажистів варіювалися від $30 тис. до $150 тис. в перерахунку на биткоіни.

Джерела агентства вважають, що подібна активність може свідчити про нові спроби втручання Росії у політичну систему США.
