Американські спецслужби отримали дані про російських хакерів від співробітників ФСБ Сергія Михайлова, Дмитра Докучаєва та Георгія Фомченкова.
 

Зараз цих офіцерів влада Росії звинувачує у державній зраді, повідомляє "Дождь" з посиланням на власні джерела.

Центр інформаційної безпеки ФСБ, заступник голови якого Сергій Михайлов є одним з фігурантів справи, займався розслідуванням кіберзлочинів і збирав інформацію про хакерів. Потім Михайлов та інші фігуранти справи передавали ці дані ЦРУ.

Отримані американською стороною дані призвели до того, що російських хакерів почали затримувати за кордоном. Телеканал стверджує, що саме дані від Михайлова і його колег дозволили затримати в 2014 році на Мальдівах Романа Селезньова - сина депутата Держдуми від ЛДПР Валерія Селезньова. У квітні 2017 Селезньова-молодшого засудили у США до  27 років в'язниці.
