Олексій Андронов, який працював на державному російському телеканалі, дав велике інтерв'ю, в якому поділився думкою про події, що відбувалися в Україні.

"Майдан був не даремно. Той шлях був абсолютно правильним!", - сказав Андронов в інтерв'ю sports.ru.

Також Олексій Андронов заявив, що внутрішні проблеми, які призвели до Майдану, накопичувались довго, а потім все це вибухнуло, показавши профнепридатність тодішнього керівництва.

Давати оцінку нинішньому керівництву України Андронов зважився з невеликим побоюванням: "Я не хотів би з іншої країни розмірковувати. Моменти є різні, до порядку ще далеко. І потім настільки часті зміни на ключових постах – хіба не говорять про те, що не все добре? Іноді здається, що потрапив у фільм жахів, і не знаєш, як з нього вибратися".

Восени 2015 року футбольний коментатор державного телеканалу Росії зробив у своєму твіттері запис, який пізніше став причиною для цькування журналіста багатьма російськими ЗМІ. Ті звинувачували Андронова в екстремізмі і русофобії.
