Головний тренер команди з підмосковного Подольська Владислав Тернавський, незважаючи на зміну громадянства на російське на початку 90- років, вважає себе українцем.

Тернавський каже, що знає, що насправді відбувається у війні на Сході України,пише Champion.com.ua

"Скажу вам чесно: я як був українцем, так ним і залишаюся! Заміна паспорта викликана лише футбольними подіями. У схожих ситуаціях були одесити Никифоров і Цимбалар, луганчанин Юран, уродженець Кіровограда Канчельскіс.

У Києві я також маю багатьох друзів: Віталія Левченка, Сергія Ковальця, Юрія Грицину, Юрія Мороза. Я шокований через усі ці події. У нас тут кажуть про всякі "праві сектори". Я грав у Тернополі, два роки служив у Золочеві, тож знаю, які люди живуть в Україні.

Пригадую, як ми з військовим начальством їздили по селах Західної України й як нас там приймали! Бабуся робила мені величезні бутерброди й казала: "Візьми із собою, передай хлопцям у казармі". А по російському телебаченню показують усякі нісенітниці.

Мій син народився в Росії, але хоче відвідати бабусю й дідуся в Києві. Та й українську мову я не забув, адже в мене мати — вчителька української та російської мови
