По словам президента CD Land Юрия Цейтлина, компания будет перепродавать бренд изготовителям игрушек, посуды и канцелярии. «Одна из ведущих коммерческих мультипликационных компаний» уже приобрела права на выпуск мультфильма со Ждуном, также у персонажа будет свой видеоблог, добавил Цейтлин.

Помимо компаний на Ждуна претендуют некие футбольные организации, которые считают персонажа неофициальным символом Чемпионата мира по футболу 2018 года. Сумму соглашения Цейтлин не раскрывает.

CD Land уже подала в Роспатент документы на регистрацию бренда «Ждун», уточняет «Москва». На странице ван Брифорт объявление о передаче российских прав на персонажа появилось в начале июня 2017 года.

Скульптура Homunculus Loxodontus, известная в России как Ждун, создана весной 2016 года, но в России она стала популярной только в январе 2017 года.
