Президент Международной федерации тенниса Франческо Риччи-Битти (ITF) опроверг сообщение прокремлевских медиа о том, что ITF якобы признала аннексированный Крым частью РФ,сообщает НВ

Известное неоднозначной подачей информации о событиях в Украине информагенство ТАСС привело якобы слова Битти о том, что крымские теннисисты могут выступать за российскую сборную.

"Я опровергаю цитату, приписанную мне агентством ИТАР-ТАСС в среду. Теннис - это индивидуальный спорт, и крымские спортсмены могут представлять любую страну, чей паспорт у них есть", - говорится в заявлении Риччи-Битти, распространенном ITF.

Как известно, влиятельные спортивные организации не признали оккупированный Крым частью России.

Так, Союз европейских футбольных ассоциаций намерен создать специальный статус на полуострове.

Главный футбольный орган Европы стремится сохранить футбол в аннексированном Россией Крыму. По словам представителя исполкома УЕФА Фратишека Лауринеца, статус региона неоднозначен.

В январе 2015 года Россия исключила крымские клубы из местного чемпионата по футболу.

Осенью 2014 года Союз европейских футбольных ассоциаций запретил крымским командам играть в турнирах под эгидой России.
