Несмотря на то, что концепция ролика практически не меняется на протяжении многих лет, и главными объектами в рекламе остаются фирменный грузовик Coca-Cola и Санта-Клаус, у ролика этого года есть одно отличие. В конце видео в предшествующих роликах Санта, перед тем как сделать глоток Coca-Cola, подмигивает ребенку. В рекламе-2016 этого не произошло, что вызвало резкую реакцию пользователей в интернете.
