В столице Латвии - Риге - состоялся митинг-концерт в поддержку образования на русском языке. Его участники выступили против намерения местных властей перевести с 1 сентября 2018 года все школы нацменьшинств на латышский язык обучения.

«Мы не выступаем против латышского языка, мы даже считаем, что наши дети должны знать государственный язык, но учиться, в основном, они должны на великом и могучем русском языке, хорошо изучать и знать государственный язык», - сказал организатор акции Яков Плинер.

Как сообщает ИТАР-ТАСС, родители и дети также недовольны предстоящей реформы. «Я считаю, что каждые национальные меньшинства, которые составляют большой процент населения страны, имеют право получать образование на родном языке. Двуязычное образование с одной стороны хорошо, а с другой стороны, ты ни то, ни другое на 100% знать не будешь», - сказала Наталия.

Напомним, страны Балтии активно поддерживают Украины, которая подверглась агрессии России. Латвия также запретила въезд ряду известных сторонников Путина, которые поддержали его в атаке против Украины.
