Сенатор от штата Вермонт Берни Сандерс на кокусах в Канзасе и Небраске победил главного соперника — бывшего госсекретаря Хиллари Клинтон, передает CBS News.

В то же время в штате Луизиана Клинтон выиграла у Сандерса с большим отрывом — по предварительным данным, ее результат составил 72 процента против 21 у сенатора.

В субботу, 5 марта, демократы определялись с предпочтительным для них кандидатом в президенты США сразу в трех штатах, Канзасе, Небраске и Луизиане. В воскресенье запланировано партийное голосование в штате Мэн.

По итогам праймериз 1 марта в «супервторник» Клинтон одержала победу в восьми штатах: в Алабаме, Арканзасе, Джорджии, Массачуссетсе, Теннесси, Техасе и Вирджинии.

В июле обе партии проведут Национальные конвенты, на которых будут избраны их кандидаты. Выборы президента США пройдут 8 ноября.
