Екс-президент Франції Ніколя Саркозі може стати фігурантом справи про перемогу заявки Катару на проведення чемпіонату світу з футболу 2022 року.

Про те, що французькі слідчі з’ясовують можливе отримання колишнім президентом коштів від хабарів, що обговорювалися під час подачі заявки на проведення мундіалю в 2022 році, повідомляє Європейська правда із посиланням на видання The Telegraph.

Однією з таких угод могла бути продаж Катару клубу Paris Saint-Germain.

Також слідчі розбирають придбання інвестиційною компанією Qatari Diar однієї з французьких фірм, яка займається переробкою сміття.

Як стверджує джерело, Франція у 2010 році була одним з головних прихильників надання Катару права на проведення ЧС.

Зазначається, що у керівництва ФІФА є думка, що Саркозі забезпечив підтримку заявці Катару як з боку Франції, так і інших європейських країн, які брали участь у голосуванні.

Ніколя Саркозі вже проходить як підозрюваний у справі про незаконне фінансування його президентської кампанії у 2012 році.
