Вслід за журналістом інтернет-видання «Ліга.net» Петром Шукліновим та автором «Центру журналістських розслідувань» Анною Андрієвською відмовилися тримувати орден «За заслуги», який є відзнакою Президента України, ще п'ять журналістів. Про це «Телекритиці» стало відомо з власних джерел.

Серед цих кореспондентів - журналісти «Громадського телебачення» Анастасія Станко, Наталія Гуменюк, фотокореспондент Lb.ua Максим Левін, фотокореспондент Reuters та Associated Press Петро Задорожний, кореспондент «Радіо Свобода» Левко Стек.

Нагадаємо, журналістка Наталія Соколенко закликала представників ЗМІ не приймати нагород від президента, аби зберегти незалежність.

Орден «За заслуги» I, II, III ступеня - державна нагорода України для відзначення видатних заслуг громадян в економічній, науковій, соціально-культурній, військовій, державній, громадській та інших сферах суспільної діяльності. Засновано відзнаку 22 вересня 1996 року Указом Президента України Леоніда Кучми № 870/96.
