Дослідники словацької антивірусної компанії ESET виявили adware-кампанію Stantinko, яка діє з 2012 року і вразила за цей час понад 100 тисяч пристроїв в Україні.

Про це повідомляє Ain.ua з посиланням на дослідження ESET.

Як повідомляється, з 2015 року зловмисникам вдалося заразити більше 500 тисяч пристроїв. Найбільше постраждалих в Україні (33%) і Росії (46%).

Розробники Stantinko заробляли через установку розширень для браузера Chrome, які вставляли рекламу і займалися кліканням на рекламні оголошення без відома користувача.

Однак, як зазначається, шкідливий сервіс, який встановлювався на комп'ютер жертви, дозволяв хакерам виконувати будь-які дії. Дослідники відзначали випадки установки шкідливого ПО, яке проводило масовий пошук в Google і атакувало панелі адміністраторів Joomla та WordPress, з метою їх злому та продажу.

 

Виявлена ​​компанія також примітна тим, що зловмисникам вдалося приховувати активність шкідливого ПО протягом п'яти років.

Перенаправлення користувача або вбудовування реклами дозволяло операторам Stantinko заробляти на трафіку, який вони надають рекламодавцям. У Stantinko також був спеціальний модуль для Facebook, який дозволяв створювати через заражені комп'ютери акаунти в соцмережі, лайкати сторінки і додавати друзів.
