Колишнього голову Європарламенту Мартіна Шульца затверджено на партійному з'їзді головою Соціал-демократичної партії Німеччини (СДПН) та офіційно затверджено кандидатом у канцлери Німеччини. Про це повідомляє німецьке видання Bild.

За даними видання, "із 100-відсотковим схвалення, його партія обрала його новим головою".

За Шульца проголосували 605 з 608 делегатів, допущених до голосування. Три бюлетеня були визнані недійсними.

У той же час він був офіційно затверджений кандидатом на пост канцлера Німеччини.

"Це вирішальний момент для мене і для всіх нас", - сказав Шульц.

"Цей результат знаменує початок боротьби за посаду канцлера", - додав він.
