Президент Исландии Олафур Рагнар Гримссон связан с по меньшей мере одной оффшорной компанией несмотря на отрицания этого факта, ранее сделанные им в СМИ.

Об этом сообщает издание Grapevine, которое видело документы, противоречащие словам президент, что ни он, ни его супруга Доррит Мусаефф не связаны с оффшорными счетами.

Согласно документам, семейный ювелирный бизнес жены Гримссона – британская компания Moussaieff Jewelers Limited (MJL) по крайней мере с 2000 по 2005 годы переводила средства на счета Lasca Finance Limited, зарегистрированная на Британских Виргинских островах.

Акционерами этой фирмы числились тесть и теща президента, которая возглавила семейный бизнес после смерти мужа. При этом, как ранее признавалась жена президента, фактически именно она, а не ее мать уже несколько лет руководит MJL.

Как сообщалось, премьер Исландии Сигмундур Гуннлаугссон в начале апреля подал в отставку после скандала с панамским оффшорами.

Гуннлаугссон и его жена стали одними из фигурантов расследования международных журналистов относительно именитых владельцев крупных оффшоров.

Гуннлаугссон ранее отказался подавать в отставку за причастность к оффшорной компании.
