США в найближчому майбутньому будуть зайняті внутрішньою боротьбою, яку спричинить прихід нового президента Дональда Трампа, і це дозволить деяким диктаторам досягти компромісу з американцями.

Про це йдеться у статті американського фінансиста і філантропа Джорджа Сороса на сайті "Європейської правди".

"Демократія переживає кризу. Навіть США, провідна демократія світу, обрали своїм президентом шахрая і потенційного диктатора. Хоча Трамп пом'якшив свою риторику після обрання, він не змінив ані свою поведінку, ані своїх радників. У складі його кабінету - некомпетентні екстремісти й відставні генерали", - йдеться у статті.

Сорос переконаний, що попри це демократія у США вистоїть, адже Конституція й інституції, зокрема – четверта влада, достатньо сильні, щоб протистояти перегинам з боку виконавчої влади, і це запобігатиме перетворенню потенційного диктатора на справжнього.

"Але США в найближчому майбутньому будуть зайняті внутрішньою боротьбою, в той час як меншини страждатимуть. США не зможуть захищати і просувати демократію в решті країн світу. Навпаки, Трамп буде більш прийнятний для диктаторів. Це дозволить деяким з них досягти компромісу зі США, а іншим - продовжувати свої справи без перешкод. Трамп волітиме домовлятися, а не відстоювати принципи", - вважає Сорос.
