Правоохранительные органы Стамбула начали расследование в отношении главного редактора и продюсера программы новостей телеканала CNN Türk за цитирование обвинений лидера турецкой оппозиции в адрес президента страны Реджепа Тайипа Эрдогана. Об этом сообщает газета Hurriyet.
Расследование в отношении журналистов началось после того, как слова лидера оппозиционной Народно-республиканской партии Турции Кемаля Кылычдароглу были показаны бегущей строкой во время выпуска новостей.
18 января Эрдоган подал в суд на Кылычдароглу после того, как тот назвал его диктатором и обвинил его в попустительстве коррупции. Прокуратура Анкары начала расследование в отношении оппозиционера по обвинению в оскорблении президента страны.
В соответствии с законодательством Турции публичное оскорбление президента является уголовно наказуемым деянием и карается тюремным заключением сроком до четырех лет.
15 января 27 ученых, подписавших петицию за прекращение антикурдской кампании в стране, задержали на короткий срок по обвинению в пропаганде терроризма. Эрдоган отказался принимать во внимание документ, собравший более тысячи подписей.
