Одними із головних питань на дебатах були зовнішня політика США, міграція та аборти.

Тим часом, згідно з результатами соцопитувань, Трамп впевнено лідирує серед претендентів від Республіканської партії.

У той же час політологи пророкують, що виборці-республіканці рано чи пізно розчаруються в Дональді Трампі, і тоді він зможе балотуватися в якості незалежного кандидата.

Під час онлайн-опитування наприкінці липня, яке проводило протягом п'яти днів агентства Reuters і компанія Ipsos, з'ясувалося, що за пана Трампа готові проголосувати майже 25% виборців - у два рази більше, ніж за його найближчого конкурента Джеба Буша.
