Президент США Дональд Трамп заявив, що він "дуже вдячний" президентові РФ Володимиру Путіну за скорочення дипломатичного персоналу США в Росії, передає The Washington Post.

"Я хочу подякувати йому, тому що ми намагаємося скоротити наші витрати на заробітну плату. І я дуже вдячний, що він відпустив велику кількість людей, тому що тепер у нас менше витрат", - сказав Трамп журналістам у четвер.

За словами президента США, ніяких причин повертатися дипломатам назад до Росії немає.

"Я високо ціную той факт, що ми змогли скоротити наші витрати на зарплати. Ми заощадимо багато грошей", - додав Трамп.

Нагадаємо, президент РФ Володимир Путін заявив, що Росію повинні покинути 755 працівників американських дипмісій.

28 липня РФ звернулася до США з вимогою до 1 вересня скоротити свій дипломатичний персонал до 455 осіб у Росії і повідомила, що забороняє посольству США користуватися складськими приміщеннями в Москві і дачею у Срібному бору.
