Заступник міністра закордонних справ Великої Британії і депутат британського парламенту від консерваторів Тобіас Елвуд намагався врятувати поліцейського, який отримав ножові поранення під час теракту у Лондоні.

Елвуд робив штучне дихання пораненому офіцеру поліції і намагався зупинити кров, доки не приїдуть медики. Його сфотографували із закривавленим обличчям серед тих, хто намагався врятувати поліцейського, який пізніше помер. 

"Я намагався зупинити потік крові і зробити штучне дихання, поки не приїдуть медики. Але, я думаю, що він втратив дуже багато крові. У нього було кілька ран, під рукою і в спині", - сказав депутат виданню The Sun.

Тобіас Елвуд – колишній військовий, він працює у департаменті МЗС, що спеціалізується на країнах Близького Сходу, Африки та боротьбі з тероризмом. У 2002 році Елвуд втратив брата під час теракту на Балі.
