Федеральный канцлер Германии Ангела Меркель по мнению британской газеты The Times стала "Человеком года" за вклад в укрепление безопасности в Европе

Как отмечает издание, Меркель – это "женщина, которая нужна нам в мире, полном опасных мужчин".

"Меркель – видный европейский политик и одна из наиболее влиятельных женщин мира", – пишет издание.

Ранее сообщалось, что звание "Человек года" по версии редакции журнала Time досталось борцам с лихорадкой Эбола. Кроме того, в шорт-листе были лидер Иракского Курдистана Масуд Барзани, основатель компании Alibaba Group Джек Ма, глава компании Apple Тим Кук, комиссар Национальной футбольной лиги США Роджер Гудилл и американская актриса и певица Тейлор Свифт.
