Лідерка партії "Батьківщини" Юлія Тимошенко оголосила про висунення своєї кандидатури на пост президента України на виборах, які відбудуться 31 березня.

Про це вона заявила під час з’їзду "Батьківщини" у Києві 22 січня, пише сайт телеканалу 24

Тимошенко сказала, що влада України робить усе для того, щоб країна стала руїною, і заявила, що йде в президенти.

Окрім того, вона назвала себе звичайною людиною і визнала, що робила помилки, перебуваючи на високих посадах.

Велика країна – це моя мета, від якої я не відступлю ні на крок. Саме тому я балотуюся сьогодні в президенти,
– заявила Тимошенко.

Лідерка "Батьківщини" пообіцяла провести всенародний референдум про зміни до Конституції, скасувати недоторканність депутатів, президента і суддів, а також скоротити кількість депутатів з 450 до 350.

Зазначимо, зібрання патрії несподівано для всіх відкривав патріарх Філарет, який закликав помолитися Господу, щоб той благословив з'їзд, що "буде служити інтересам української держави і народу".

Також, кандидатуру Тимошенко на президентських виборах підтримав лідер партії "Рух нових сил" колишній голова Одеської ОДА Міхеіл Саакашвілі та перший президент України Леонід Кравчук.
