Президент США Дональд Трамп повідомив, що його адміністрація перегляне американське законодавство щодо наклепу аби знайти можливі способи посилити його.
 
 

Таку заяву президент зробив на тлі виходу книги журналіста Майкла Волффа «Вогонь і лють: у коридорах Білого дому Трампа», пише Media Sapiens із посиланням на Reuters.

«Наші закони про наклеп є лицемірними та ганебними і не відображають американських цінностей та справедливості в Америці, тому ми будемо уважно стежити за цим», - сказав президент перед першим засіданням свого кабінету в новому році.

«Ми збираємося уважно стежити за законами про наклеп у нашій країні, тому, коли хтось скаже щось, що є хибним і наклепницьким щодо іншої людини, ця особа матиме суттєві способи захистити себе в суді», - також зазначив Дональд Трамп.

Нещодавно старший радник Трампа з питань політики Стівен Міллер став на захист президента під час інтерв’ю на CNN. Стівен Міллер ігнорував питання ведучого й наполягав на тому, що Дональд трамп є талановитим президентом й книга Майкла Волффа спотворено розповідає про адміністрації Трампа. За даними джерел каналу CBS, охороні довелося ввивести Стівена Міллера зі студії.
