Дональд Трамп заявил о том, что не собирается строить забор на границе Соединенных Штатов за счет Мексики. Как передает PRпортал со ссылкой на CNN, Трамп проконсультировался с представителями Республиканской партии и решил профинансировать проект за счет США – он обратится к Конгрессу с просьбой выделить необходимые средства.

Как утверждает источник, проект могут начать реализовывать уже в апреле этого года. Стив Скалис, конгрессмен от Луизианы, заявил о том, что республиканцы хотят, чтобы у Трампа появились все необходимые инструменты для того, чтобы реализовать проект по строительству стены на границе с Мексикой. Команда Трампа, между тем, заявляет, что новый президент будет отталкиваться от закона, принятого Джорджем Бушем в 2006 году, который предусматривает возведение забора.

Протяженность этой стены может достигать 700 миль, однако больше десяти лет назад у США просто не нашлось денег на строительство. Ранее президент Мексики заявил, что не собирается выделять средства на этот проект, поэтому избранный глава США решил подкорректировать свое обещание
