Миллиардер Дональд Трамп, один из основных претендентов на президентское кресло США от Республиканской партии, пообещал в случае своей победы "отправить обратно на родину всех беженцев из Сирии". Такое заявление он сделал в интервью телекомпании CNN, передает Сегодня.

"Мы понятия не имеем, кто они. Мы не знаем, откуда они пришли. И я заявляю прямо сейчас, что они могут приехать из-за слабости Обамы, однако они уедут, когда я стану президентом. Здесь они не останутся. Они вернутся в Сирию, будет ли там зона безопасности или что угодно", – сказал скандальный политик.

Трамп также подозревает, что многие из сирийских беженцев легко могут оказаться членами террористической группировки "Исламское государство".

Между тем, США не находятся в числе стран, куда направляются потоки беженцев с Ближнего востока и непосредственно из Сирии. Так, в следующем году США готовы принять только 10 тысяч беженцев из Сирии, а на данный момент такой статус предоставлен всего 1,5 тысяче вынужденных переселенцев из этой страны. При этом квоты на прием беженцев со всего мира, установленные Конгрессом, не превышает сейчас 70 тысяч человек в год.
